The VEX Robotics Competition challenges students and mentors across
the world to solve a series of tasks using ingenuity and their knowledge of the VEX Robotics system.Students use the VEX Robotics Design System which includes all the standard parts to build a robot. Once done teams enter them in competitions against teams from other schools from around the world.
In VEX, students use a robotic kit designed to help introduce students of all ages to the world of robotics. Middle-school-aged to high-school-aged students will be fascinated by the interesting and exciting life that engineers and researchers lead.
The VEX robots are smaller than the FIRST robots, and more fun to build because the stress of having to build a large, complicated robot does not exist. The VEX Robotics Competition is a good starting point to encourage students to take an interest in robotics and engineering, and may get them to step up and compete in the First Robotics Competition.
VEX changes the age old ideas about winning, by rewarding excellence in design, hard work and sportmanship. The VEX Robotics Competition also brings people from other schools together; meeting new people, creating strong friendships, and making friendly rivalries are all part of the competition to make the game all the more intense and fun.
