    Control System

    User Control

After the 15 seconds autonomous mode the controls are switched to the human players which lasts for 2 minutes.

There are many different ways to drive the robot: arcade, tank, steering wheel, etc. Our s Sam and Erica wanted to have "tank" drive for this year's game, Lunacy. For tank drive, two joysticks are used each controlling the drive of one side of the robot (left and right). In addition to driving the robot, the driver also has control of the beater bar which is used to pick up balls.

For other operations of the robot, another joystick in addition to three stand alone switches is used. The X and Y axis of the joystick control the pan and tilt of the turret while buttons on the joystick control the helix and ball loader.

The stand alone switches are used for functions that change, but not very often such as setting the: camera friend color, shooter, and turret auto tracking.
