"FIRST has given opportunities to me that would change my life. I am truly grateful in being part of FIRST Robotics for the past two years. Beyond doubt, it had been a rocky beginning when I was a fresh member on the team. However, when I expanded on what FIRST has to offer, I soon discovered a personal interest. During the seasons, I had met a lot of new students that I would have never thought I will meet. Every member has their own uniqueness, and I really enjoy working with them. As time passed, they are like family to me. Robotics should not be called as “just” a club or an afterschool activity, but rather an opportunity to foster teamwork, gain knowledge and practice gracious professionalism. Undeniably, I can say that FIRST is about everything “FIRST,”—FIRST time staying overnight at school for a Kickoff; first time eating three plate lunches in one sitting; first time jumping into a trash dump; first time having seven computers at home at once; and the first time to feel the success of teamwork!"
