Hawaiian Electric has 6 wheels each made of 3 separately machined parts. The 2 outer sections sandwich the treads in place so no adhesive is required. The center plate acts as the backbone of the wheel giving it it's strength.

   The wheel pattern this year was created in SolidWorks and then fabricated using a CNC mill. The design of the wheel is based upon a design that Team 60 came up with a few years ago.
