| The whole purpose of combining the mechanical and electrical aspects of a robot is being able to control it.
The robot uses the IFI Robot Controller that is provided in the Kit of Parts for all FRC teams. It is an interplay of hardware and software capapble of executing many commands per second. Using programming code stored in its memory, the Robot Controller can receive inputs from onboard sensors as well as the Operator Interface and perform the desired tasks. There are 2 ways to control a robot, with or without a human at the controls. |
