The Mechanical Team is in charge of the design and fabrication of the robot.

The team uses Autodesk Inventor 11, a 3D design/drafting program, to design parts for the robot. The parts can be made separately and assembled together to make a complete product.

To fabricate the parts, the team uses a new CNC (computer numerical control) mill. Parts that are designed on Inventor 11 can be downloaded to the mill and the fabrication process is completely automated until the part is made.
