Sprockets
| The mechanical team had some new toys to play with this year including a device that could make custom size sprockets. The process is called Sprocket Hobbing. Click here to watch a video of a sprocket being made on the mill.
The middle wheels use a dual sprocket configuration. What's unique is that it is machined from a single block of metal. 25 pitch chains transmit power to the front wheels and 35 pitch chain transmit power to the rest of the wheels. |
